Starred linklists & share via e-mail

We just launched a new feature; starred linklists. It’s a very simple function for making a linklist easily accessible, for example if you want to come back to it later or make it stand out from the other linklists. To star a linklist — yours or someone else’s — just click the ☆ connected to a linklist, found in the right column of each linklist or in the main browse view. To unstar the linklist, simply click the ★. All your starred linklists can be reached at linkli.st/username/★ (or linkli.st/username/starred if you prefer letters to symbols) and from your front page. In order to keep things as simple as possible, we have removed the ‘contributed linklists’ sidebar (previously found at the ‘Your linklists’ page) and made all those linklists starred instead. Starred linklists that are not public will of course still not be seen by someone else.

The bookmarklet is updated too to work with the new feature — if you don’t already have the it installed, make sure you get it here.

We have also added the option of sharing a linklist via e-mail: In the ‘Share’ box connected to each linklist, next to the Facebook, Twitter and Delicious buttons you can find a new ‘@’-icon — click it to enter the e-mail address of whom to share the linklist with (if several, just seperate with comma) and click ‘Send’.

Over the coming weeks we’ll also be rolling out another way to organize the site a bit more; a search function! But more on that when it’s on its way.

Merry Xmas and happy new year!
